CHP Leader Özgür Özel Announces Opening Date for Madımak Shame Museum

Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel has made significant statements regarding the opening of the Madımak Shame Museum, which will commemorate the Madımak Massacre. Özel confirmed that the museum would be inaugurated no later than four years from now, on July 2. “I don’t know if it will be one year or three years, but I vow that it won’t be more than four years from now, on July 2, not a day later. I will be present at the opening of Madımak Shame Museum, and we will inaugurate it together,” said Özel.

This announcement was made public by the CHP’s Deputy Chairperson responsible for public and media relations, with support from Adana MP Burhanettin Bulut.

The Madımak Massacre, a tragic event that occurred on July 2, 1993, in Sivas, resulted in the loss of 37 lives. The intention behind establishing the Madımak Shame Museum is to ensure that this day of shame is not forgotten and to pass its memory down to future generations. The specified date and commitment underscore how sensitive and determined the CHP is on this matter.
