CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yücel Criticizes AKP’s New Tip Line Initiative
CHP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Deniz Yücel has strongly criticized AKP’s new tip line initiative.
In a social media post, Yücel targeted Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, drawing comparisons between the new system and notifications reminiscent of coup periods.
Yücel stated that this initiative encourages citizens to report on each other. He questioned, “Mr. Şimşek! Were you appointed to increase taxes, impose additional levies, and encourage citizens to snitch on each other? If these are the reasons for your appointment, Nureddin Nebati could have done these just as well as you.”
Yücel also directed his criticism towards the AKP government, adding, “Instead of encouraging citizens to report on each other, why don’t you collect the erased tax debts from your allies and remove the privileges you have given to the ‘gang of five’? Implement a fair tax system so we can see how much you truly value the state and the nation!”
