CHP Commemorates 50th Anniversary of Cyprus Peace Operation
Deniz Yücel, Vice Chairman and Spokesperson of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), has made a statement on the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation. Yücel highlighted that Turkish Cypriots endured years of massacres and inhumane treatment at the hands of the EOKA terrorist organization, emphasizing that the Cyprus Peace Operation brought an end to these sufferings.
Drawing on the words of CHP’s 3rd General Chairman Bülent Ecevit, Yücel reminded, “We are actually going to the island not for war, but for peace, and to bring peace not only to Turks but also to Greeks.” He paid tribute with respect, gratitude, and reverence to those who contributed to the success of the operation under Ecevit’s leadership. Additionally, Yücel expressed great pride in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation.
