CHP Challenges New Law on Street Animals at Constitutional Court
The Republican People’s Party (CHP) is taking action to halt a new law, which it claims paves the way for the massacre of street animals, by filing an application with the Constitutional Court.
CHP Deputy Chairman responsible for Public Relations and Media Relations, Burhanettin Bulut, announced, “Despite all our objections, the government hurriedly passed a law that opens the door to the massacre of street animals. Therefore, we are applying to the Constitutional Court to annul the law and halt its implementation.”
Bulut emphasized that the law has been met with significant backlash from animal rights activists, labeling the legislation as a “massacre law.”
