Breeze-2024 Naval Exercise Held in Bulgaria

The Breeze-2024 naval exercise was held in the Western Black Sea from July 4 to 14, 2024, hosted by Bulgaria. The Turkish Navy participated in the exercise with the fuel ship TCG YÜZBAŞI GÜNGÖR DURMUŞ and the mine-hunting ship TCG AKÇAY, as part of the Black Sea Task Force for Mine Countermeasures.

During the sea phase of the exercise, various maneuvers were conducted including mine warfare, combating asymmetric threats, air defense warfare, drifting mine discovery and surveillance, damage control training, maritime training, and surface shooting exercises.

Following the exercise, a ceremonial parade was held where the President of Bulgaria was saluted. The evaluation meeting of the exercise was attended by Admiral Kiril Yordanov, Commander of the Bulgarian Navy, Rear Admiral Velko Velkov, Commander of the Bulgarian Flotilla, and Captain Yusuf Karagülle, Commander of the Black Sea Task Force for Mine Countermeasures.
