Breeze-2024 Exercise Held in the Western Black Sea

Breeze-2024 Exercise took place from July 4 to July 14, 2024, in the Western Black Sea, hosted by Bulgaria. The exercise saw the participation of Turkey with the TCG Yüzbaşı Güngör Durmuş fuel ship and the TCG Akçay minehunter, as part of the Mine Counter Measures Black Sea Task Group (MCM BLACK SEA).

During the naval phase of the exercise, activities such as mine warfare, combating asymmetric threats, air defense warfare, drifting mine reconnaissance/surveillance, damage control, navigational training, and surface firing were conducted.

At the conclusion of the exercise, a ceremonial march took place where the President of Bulgaria was saluted.

Following the exercise, an evaluation meeting was held with the participation of Bulgarian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Kiril Yordanov, Bulgarian Flotilla Commander Brigadier General Velko Velkov, and MCM BLACK Sea Task Group Commander Capt. Yusuf Karagülle.
