According to the official account of the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, applications have commenced for the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program, which has benefitted over 650 high school students from Turkey. Established by the U.S. Congress in 2002 and funded by the U.S. Department of State, the program is organized under the sponsorship of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA).
The YES Program offers high school students a full scholarship exchange opportunity, allowing them to spend an academic year in the United States. During the program, students live with volunteer host families, attend local high schools, and participate in a variety of activities designed to help them learn about American society and values. Additionally, students develop leadership skills and play a crucial role in sharing information about their own culture and country with Americans.
