AK Party Criticizes Remarks by Re-Welfare Party Deputy Leader Against President Erdoğan

By Haberyaz Jul12,2024

AK Party Deputy Chairman and Spokesperson Ömer Çelik has strongly criticized statements made by Re-Welfare Party Deputy Chairman Doğan Aydal regarding President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Referring to Aydal’s comment that “if Erdoğan doesn’t change the constitution, he would leave for another country, possibly America,” Çelik labeled the remarks as an ugly and unconscious disrespect and condemned them vehemently.

Çelik emphasized that President Erdoğan’s courageous stance, from fighting against tutelage and terrorism to countering FETÖ and resisting attacks on February 7 and July 15, is highly appreciated by both the world and the nation. He stressed that Aydal’s statements are nothing more than disrespectful and out of line.

“We have fought against such ugliness and slander many times before, and we will continue to respond both politically and legally,” Çelik stated, indicating that necessary steps will be taken in the future.
