In a recent statement, AK Party Bursa Deputy and Chairman of the Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information, and Technology Commission addressed criticisms against national footballer Merih’s goal celebration.
The deputy stated, “Merih’s goal celebration is a value that belongs to our land. We are proud of our footballer and always stand by him.” Responding to some quarters labeling Merih’s goal celebration as “racist,” the deputy emphasized, “Those making these criticisms should first look at their own history.”
Highlighting that those who support LGBT propaganda and sympathize with the PKK do not expect to intimidate the Turkish nation, the deputy affirmed their support for the national footballer’s actions.
This statement came as a response to the ongoing debate regarding the footballer’s goal celebration.
