Turkish and German Navies Conduct Joint Exercises in NATO Maritime Security Operations

The Turkish Armed Forces, dedicated to enhancing maritime security and joint operational capabilities within NATO, recently carried out a series of exercises with Germany’s navy.

On October 5, 2023, the TCG TÜRKELİ patrol vessel operated alongside the German Navy’s FGS GROMITZ as part of NATO’s Standing Maritime Group 2 (SNMG-2). The exercises included various training maneuvers and drills designed to bolster collaboration between the Turkish and German naval forces.

According to the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, the aim of these exercises is to strengthen cooperation and enhance competencies in maritime operations. Such joint training sessions are deemed crucial for improving coordination among NATO allies.
