Turkish Armed Forces Neutralize 48 Terrorists in Successful Operations

The Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) have announced a significant counter-terrorism achievement, neutralizing 48 terrorists in the past week through successful operations against groups such as PKK, ISIS, and FETÖ. The update came during a weekly press briefing by the Ministry of National Defense.

**Atatürk Remembered with Respect**
Turkey commemorated the 86th anniversary of the passing of its founder, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with great reverence. A record-breaking number of 1,092,365 people visited Anıtkabir on November 10 to honor Atatürk on Remembrance Day. The Ministry of National Defense expressed gratitude for the overwhelming public interest.

**Counter-Terrorism Efforts Detailed**
During the briefing, it was revealed that operations conducted in Iraq and Syria over the past week resulted in 48 terrorists being neutralized. Since January 1, the TSK has successfully neutralized a total of 2,505 terrorists.

**Border Security Measures**
Regarding border security, the Ministry reported the apprehension of 149 individuals attempting illegal crossings in the past week. Additionally, 1,443 people were prevented from crossing. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 12,610 individuals have been detained while trying to cross borders illegally.

**Cyprus’s 41st Anniversary Celebrated**
Turkey celebrated the 41st anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Azerbaijan’s National Revival Day. The Ministry emphasized Turkey’s ongoing support for the just causes of Cyprus and other allied nations.

**International Engagements**
The Minister of National Defense participated in an event held in Azerbaijan on November 8 and attended the ceremony at Anıtkabir. The Minister also announced plans to host the UK’s Defense Secretary and visit TUSAŞ.

**Ongoing Training and Exercises**
Updates were provided on the continuous training and exercises aimed at enhancing the combat effectiveness of the TSK. The success of Turkish athletes at the European Kickboxing Championship held in Greece was also highlighted.

**Stance Against Israeli Aggression**
The Ministry called on the international community to show resolve against Israel’s attacks on Palestine and Lebanon. It underscored the threat to regional security posed by disruptions to humanitarian aid.

**Developments in Defense Industry**
The NEFER Turret Armored Combat Vehicle has completed its acceptance activities. Additionally, events will be held in Eskişehir to celebrate the induction of F-4E aircraft into the inventory.

**Personnel Recruitment Initiatives**
Applications for contract officer candidates for the year 2024 are ongoing, and submissions for pilot officer candidates for the Air Force Command will close on November 15. The Ministry reaffirmed the Turkish Armed Forces’ dedication to fulfilling their duties with determination.
