Turkish Athletes Shine at the European Kickboxing Championship in Greece

Turkish military personnel continue to showcase their dedication not only in counter-terrorism efforts but also in the sports arena, achieving significant victories. Between November 1-10, 2024, the Turkish National Team achieved remarkable success at the European Kickboxing Championship held in Greece.

The championship saw participation from 1,133 athletes representing 41 countries. Members of the Turkish Armed Forces Sports Unit distinguished themselves in various weight categories. Two athletes secured the title of European Champion in the 52 kg and 65 kg categories, while another athlete earned third place in the 67 kg category, representing Turkey with pride.

The detailed results from the championship are as follows:

– Teacher Lieutenant Nagihan Karakuş won the European Championship title in the 65 kg K-1 category.

– Teacher Lieutenant Zeliha Doğan became the European Champion in the 52 kg Low Kick category.

– Air Teacher Lieutenant Emre Korkmaz brought honor to Turkey by securing third place in the 67 kg Low Kick category.

These valiant officers, who have contributed greatly to the Turkish National Team with their achievements, have once again solidified Turkey’s success in the international sports arena. We wholeheartedly congratulate them and wish them continued success.
