40th COMCEC Ministerial Meeting Concludes in Istanbul
The 40th Ministerial Meeting of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) concluded after two days in Istanbul. This significant conference hosted crucial consultations focusing on development-oriented programs for the Islamic world. The meeting served as a platform to emphasize continuous progress within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) efforts.
Significant Emphasis on the Trade System
In his opening speech, the President highlighted the importance of member countries’ participation in the Preferential Trade System. The primary goal is to increase trade volume and strengthen economic cooperation. Furthermore, intensive efforts towards ensuring digital transformation and financial inclusivity were underscored.
General Condition of the Islamic World
The meeting also evaluated the general condition of the Islamic world alongside economic issues. The policies implemented by Israel in Gaza and the instability in the region were particularly discussed. Turkey reiterated its commitment to support the establishment of an independent Palestinian State.
Cooperation and Message of Gratitude
Decisions taken during the Ministers’ Exchange of Views Session are expected to yield beneficial results for the Islamic world and deepen cooperation. Gratitude was expressed to all institutions and organizations, the delegations of member countries, and the OIC General Secretariat for their contributions to organizing the meeting.
