Inflation Expectations Improving: Significant Decline Observed
Recently, significant improvements have been observed in inflation expectations. Driven by the disinflation process, the annual inflation expectations of various societal segments, including households and the real sector, have shown a remarkable decrease over the last five months.
In households, the 12-month forward inflation expectation dropped by 8.9 points, while in the real sector, this figure fell by 6.5 points. For market participants, the inflation expectation decreased by 5.8 points.
Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek emphasized that the economic program they are implementing is being carried out with determination, and he conveyed that the positive assessments regarding inflation outlook and expectations will continue. These developments could contribute to increased confidence in the markets.
