Digital Media Seminar Held for Youth in Manisa
Manisa’s Provincial Mufti Office organized a digital media seminar aimed at young people.
**Seminar Topic and Content**
Held at the TDV Manisa Youth Studies Center, the seminar featured M. Cüneyd Çiğdemli, Advisor to the Presidency of Religious Affairs, as the speaker. Titled “Digital World under the Grip of Algorithms,” the seminar provided comprehensive information about the opportunities and dangers presented by the digital world. The primary focus was on the impact of algorithms on users within digital media and the role of content in shaping people’s emotions and behaviors.
The importance of digital media literacy was emphasized, highlighting the essential qualities of a conscious digital media user. Valuable insights were shared about the risks and opportunities that social media presents.
**Perception Management and Information Access**
The final segment of the seminar addressed issues of perception management and manipulation. There was a strong emphasis on the importance of accessing accurate information and developing a critical perspective on media. Additionally, various recommendations were offered to young people to help them use digital media more consciously and effectively.
