The Lebanese Army has issued a warning regarding Israel’s attempts to direct its citizens towards media content intended for espionage purposes. The army highlighted that Israel is posting various contents on social media platforms with the concern of conducting security breaches in Lebanon. The statement emphasized that such content is designed to lure Lebanese people into sites aimed at gathering information.
Israeli Espionage Activities
In the announcement made by the Lebanese Army, it was stated, “The enemy is trying to lure citizens to espionage, information-gathering, or agent recruitment sites by publishing media content like videos, links, and apps on some social media platforms.” In this context, Lebanese people are urged to avoid accessing these sites and staying away from such content.
Personal Data at Risk
Previously, Hezbollah had issued a warning to the Lebanese, pointing out that the brochures distributed by Israel in eastern areas could jeopardize personal information. Notably, there was an emphasis on not scanning the barcodes present in the brochures.
Air Strikes Following Recent Events
Since September 23, Israel has been conducting intense air strikes on southern and eastern regions of Lebanon. Reports indicate that these attacks have resulted in over 1,100 deaths and displaced more than 1.2 million people. This has further exacerbated the security and humanitarian situation in Lebanon.
