According to statements from the Minister of Finance Mehmet Şimşek, a total of 78 operations have been carried out across Turkey to combat online illegal betting, gambling, and fraud. These operations took place between June 4, 2023, and September 25, 2024.
**Seizure of Financial Assets**
As a result of the operations, assets worth 1.5 billion TL were seized. Additionally, access to 7,300 websites was blocked. During this period, 3,500 individuals were detained, of which 1,800 were arrested. Judicial control decisions were made for 700 individuals.
**Comprehensive Fight Against Cyber Crimes**
In the scope of combating online fraud and cybercrime, 54 operations were conducted. These efforts led to the detention of 3,000 individuals, of which 1,200 were arrested, and judicial control decisions were made for 600 individuals. Assets worth 1 billion TL were seized, and access to 2,000 websites was blocked.
**Unified Effort to Protect Youth**
Minister Şimşek emphasized the importance of protecting the youth from online illegal betting and gambling crimes, urging all segments of society to contribute to this fight. Continuous efforts were pledged to combat illegal betting.
