Ali Babacan’s Memorial Address on the 64th Anniversary of the May 27 Coup
Deva Party President Ali Babacan made a statement on the 64th anniversary of the May 27 Coup.
In his address, Babacan emphasized that it is not enough to commemorate the victims of May 27 and keep the memory of the coup alive with mere words.
Babacan highlighted the importance of remembering May 27 and stressed the necessity of standing against those who ignore the will of the people and attempt to establish new dominations.
Furthermore, Babacan expressed his respect and prayers for Adnan Menderes, Fatin Rüştü Zorlu, and Hasan Polatkan, who were executed as a result of the May 27 coup.
The May 27 Coup remains a dark chapter in Turkish democratic history, leaving behind profound pain. Even 64 years later, the traces and impacts of the coup have not been forgotten.
