President Erdoğan Travels to New York for UN General Assembly

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has announced his departure to New York to attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly meetings. Erdoğan expressed hope that his visit will benefit Turkey, the nation, and all of humanity.

This year’s General Assembly features the “Summit of the Future,” hosted by UN Secretary-General António Guterres. The summit will take place on September 23, aiming to devise common solutions in response to challenges facing the multilateral system. On the first day of the meetings, September 24, Tuesday, Erdoğan is scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly.

In his speech, Erdoğan will highlight the need for reform in the United Nations Security Council and international financial architecture, emphasizing the necessity for an inclusive, fair, and effective structure. He will also discuss the situation in Gaza and potential collective actions against Israel’s aggressive policies.

During his visit to the United States, Erdoğan will engage in a series of intensive meetings, including interactions with the UN Secretary-General and other world leaders. He will also connect with think tank representatives and the American business community. Additionally, plans are in place for Erdoğan to meet with Turkish citizens living in the United States.
