CHP Deputy Chairman Criticizes Decline in Retirement Bonuses and Conditions for Retirees

By Haberyaz May27,2024

CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut has highlighted the diminishing retirement bonuses and the harsh living conditions faced by retirees in Turkey. Bulut pointed out that while retirees used to be able to buy houses with their bonuses, now this amount isn’t even enough to purchase a motorcycle. “Shame on those who have reduced the retirement bonuses that used to buy homes to the price of a motorcycle,” he stated.

In addition, Bulut emphasized that retirees abroad enjoy much higher living standards, remarking, “Shame on those who deny Hasan Uncle a tenth of the life Hans lives.” Criticizing the insensitivity towards the economic struggles of retirees, Bulut added, “Shame on those who tell retirees complaining of hunger to ‘vacation in student dormitories.'”

This statement was prepared using information from CHP sources.
