Ceremony Held for Graduates of 30th Term POMEM Training Program

The graduation ceremony for POMEM students who successfully completed the 30th Term POMEM training program and earned the right to join the law enforcement agency was held.

The event took place at the Police Academy Gölbaşı campus and was attended by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, Deputy Interior Ministers Mehmet Sağlam and Bülent Turan, General Director of Security Mahmut Demirtaş, Jandarma General Commander General Ali Çardakçı, Coast Guard Commander Rear Admiral Ahmet Kendir, Deputy Directors of General Security, Directors, Department Heads, graduates, and their families.

The ceremony began with a moment of silence and the national anthem.

In his speech, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated, “Today, we are collectively celebrating the graduation of 6,389 students who have successfully completed their training at our 23 Police Vocational Training Centers. These students will don the honorable uniform that provides peace and security to our noble nation and commence their duties. I congratulate each of you individually for experiencing this graduation joy.”

Yerlikaya added, “We do not have to look far back. The separatist terrorist organization that attempted to undermine our peace, security, and fraternity by digging trenches 8 years ago, as well as the FETO treason network that opened fire and bombed our nation on the night of July 15, did not achieve their goals.”

Addressing the graduates, Yerlikaya said, “You are the prayer on the lips of 85 million people. You represent the legitimate power of our state. Each of you will work to ensure social life operates in unity, order, and security. You will always serve our nation. As you perform this sacred duty, your guide will be the law, and your reference will be human rights. Always listen to your conscience. Everything may diminish in a person, but conscience never. Conscience bearers have quiet voices; you will be the voice of the quiet.”

Yerlikaya also emphasized the Interior Ministry’s commitment to enhancing capabilities through resources and technologies and growing with the addition of new heroes to the ministry. “We know that as long as the hearts of 85 million beat as one, our nation will remain united, and our state will endure. The greatest assurance of this is these brave individuals. The greatest assurance is you who raise such brave ones, and we will not stop, nor pause, and will continue to strike blow after blow against terrorist organizations.”

General Director of Security Mahmut Demirtaş remarked, “For the peace of Turkey, and the survival of our state and nation, our organization works round the clock without regard for hours. Undoubtedly, the young cadres graduating today will make significant contributions to this great organization as honorable members.”

Demirtaş added, “While performing your duties, you shall never compromise on the values left to us by our civilization. You will always be honest and not deviate from the truth. You will be at the forefront in ensuring the peace and security of our noble nation. You will adhere to the rule of law and be the guarantor of our democracy.”

He also stated, “You will stand by the oppressed and the victims while being in direct opposition to treacherous entities. You should have no association with any illegal structures until your last breath. Your sole bond, your only allegiance, should be to our noble nation and mighty state. Consequently, your stance should be that of our nation; your side, that of our state. Know that our homeland, state, flag, and nation are entrusted to you. Protecting these trusts, even at the expense of your lives, is your fundamental duty. I wholeheartedly believe you will fulfill this task adequately. On this occasion, I pay tribute with respect and gratitude to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades, as well as our martyrs and heroic veterans who sacrificed their lives for our homeland.”

The graduation program concluded with the graduates taking the oath and the ceremonial parade.

This is respectfully announced to the public.
