Batman, Turkey – New Workshop on “Next Generation Journalism”

 significant event took place recently in Batman, Turkey, organized by the Batman Governor Ekrem Can Alp and the President of Tigad (Turkey Internet Journalists Association), Okan Gençgel. The workshop focused on “Next Generation Journalism” and aimed to bring together experts and enthusiasts from the field to discuss and develop new strategies for the evolving media landscape.

Following the workshop, attendees were treated to a comprehensive tour of Batman’s natural and historical beauties. The tour included a visit to the Şenay Aybüke Yalçın Library, which can serve 1271 students simultaneously and is the largest cultural library in Turkey. The group also inspected the ongoing restoration works at the Mor Kiryakus Monastery.

A highlight of the tour was a visit to Hasankeyf, a historical site with a 12,000-year history. Participants had the chance to explore the Hasankeyf Museum, which elucidates the rich history of the ancient settlement.

The efforts of Batman Governor Ekrem Can Alp and the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism to promote Batman were exemplary. The decision by Tigad to hold their workshop in Batman provided a significant boost to cultural tourism in the area.
