Mahmut Demirtaş Appointed as General Director of Security by Presidential Decree

Newly appointed General Director of Security Mahmut Demirtaş expressed his gratitude towards the President in a formal statement. Demirtaş emphasized his dedication to advancing the Turkish Police Force to new levels of excellence.
Demirtaş acknowledged the continuous support of the Minister of the Interior, which will be pivotal in the successful execution of future plans aimed at bolstering both the physical and human capacities of the 179-year-old security organization.
“Our goal is to elevate the Turkish Police Force to higher levels. Alongside my esteemed colleagues, we are committed to working tirelessly with a renewed spirit and enthusiasm to achieve this objective,” said Demirtaş.
Demirtaş promised to uphold the peace and security of the nation by working in harmony with all partner institutions. Emphasizing a firm stance against terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking, and human smuggling, Demirtaş stated, “We will continue our fight with determination and resolve.”
Furthermore, Demirtaş vowed to respect fundamental rights and freedoms while ensuring the rule of law and serving the country’s citizens above all. “With the principle of ‘keeping humanity alive so the state may live,’ we will be servants to our nation,” he added.
In tribute to the sacrifices made by martyrs and veterans, Demirtaş conveyed his prayers and well wishes. He also extended his appreciation to his predecessor, Vali Erol Ayyıldız, for his contributions to the security organization.
“May God grant us the honor of performing good services for our nation with the prayers of our people,” concluded Demirtaş.
