CHP’s Burhanettin Bulut Clarifies Status of Adana Şakirpaşa Airport
CHP Deputy Chairman and Adana MP Burhanettin Bulut has made significant statements regarding the status of Adana Şakirpaşa Airport. Addressing claims that the airport is closed to passenger flights, Bulut remarked that the situation has been misunderstood by the public.
Bulut emphasized that Adana Şakirpaşa Airport is currently open only for training flights, which has led to a public misconception. He stated, “Saying ‘we will reopen’ an airport that is only open for training flights is nothing but a joke. Şakirpaşa Airport exists in name only but has no function. We cannot accept such a situation.”
Advocating for the reopening of the airport for passenger transportation, Bulut assured that they would pursue this issue and take necessary actions. He also referred to Atatürk Airport, saying, “Similarly, Atatürk Airport is open for training flights but not for passenger transportation. Statements like these do nothing but confuse the public.”
