Turkey’s Ministry of Health Warns About Excessive Salt Consumption During World Salt Awareness Week
Turkey’s Ministry of Health has issued a significant warning during World Salt Awareness Week, which runs from May 20 to May 26. The ministry highlighted that excessive salt intake not only leads to hypertension but also adversely affects individuals with heart disease, diabetes, and heart failure. Furthermore, these adverse effects are not limited to those who are already ill, but also apply to healthy individuals.
The purpose of this warning from the Ministry of Health is to increase public awareness and control salt consumption. Health Minister Fahrettin Koca stated, “Excessive salt consumption can invite a range of health issues that negatively affect the body’s wellbeing.” Minister Koca urged all citizens to pay attention to their salt intake.
