Türkiye and Japan Mark 100th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations with Naval Visit
In celebration of a century of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Japan, two military vessels from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, “JS KASHIMA” and “JS SHIMAKAZE,” are making a port call in Istanbul. The ships will be docked at Sarayburnu from August 9 to 12, 2024.
Upon the ships’ arrival, North Sea Area Commander Rear Admiral Rafet Oktar and other admirals from the Istanbul region were present to welcome them. The reception included a performance by the North Sea Area Command’s band.
