Turkey and Montenegro Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations in Various Sectors

AK Party Ankara MP Fuat Oktay met with Ervin Ibrahimović, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for International Relations of Montenegro, during an official visit by the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

The meeting highlighted the agreement to deepen relations in various sectors, including economy, trade, education, health, defense industry, tourism, and infrastructure. This is seen as a significant step for two friendly nations with a shared history and NATO alliance.

Both parties emphasized the importance of reciprocal high-level visits and parliamentary diplomacy in advancing bilateral relations. Agreement was also reached on strengthening relations between the parliaments and committees.

The significant role of Turkey, an essential component of the Balkans, in ensuring peace, stability, tranquility, and prosperity in the region, as well as in enhancing cooperation, was assessed. Turkey’s continued support for all initiatives aimed at regional cooperation was reiterated.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed the necessity of establishing peace in the Middle East as a precondition for securing global security and stability. It was underscored that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu should be held accountable under international law for his policies in Gaza and ignoring calls for a ceasefire.
