DEVA Party Leader Ali Babacan Warns of Rising Hunger Threshold
DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan, in a statement made in July, highlighted that the hunger threshold has risen to 19,234 lira and warned that this increase is likely to continue each month. Babacan pointed out that the current minimum wage remains at 17,000 lira and is not expected to change until the end of the year. He argued that this situation forces citizens into hunger and poverty, making it impossible to lower inflation.
In his criticism of the government, Babacan also noted that even IMF programs include a social concern.
