Istanbul Municipality Offers Support for Low-Income Retirees Living in Risky Buildings

In a significant move, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is set to renew the risky structures housing low-income retirees. According to the announcement by Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, the municipality will cover 65% of the renovation costs for these buildings in Istanbul. Additionally, retirees will receive a rental support of 9,000 TL during the transition period.

Mayor İmamoğlu emphasized that the aim is to ensure that retirees live in secure housing and to accelerate the urban transformation process. By covering a major portion of the renewal costs, the municipality intends to alleviate the financial burden on retirees. The provision of rental support seeks to ensure that retirees can move to new and safe housing swiftly and without financial hardship.

This initiative is expected to offer substantial support to retirees living in risky buildings and contribute positively to the urban transformation efforts.
