Ankara—Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a significant statement at the Presidential Complex during the commemoration ceremony of the 15 July coup attempt. Erdoğan underscored the critical importance of the 15 July coup attempt in Turkey’s democratic history and emphasized that the coup was thwarted due to the nation’s resolute resistance and faith in democracy.

Erdoğan firmly stated, “Let no one take offense, no matter their name, title, or rank; anyone who speaks against 15 July is targeting the nation, democracy, and the unwavering will of the people.” He maintained that any criticism of the 15 July events is essentially an attack on the people and their democracy, stressing that such criticisms are intolerable.

The President extended his gratitude to the citizens for their steadfast fight during the coup attempt, reiterating the significance of protecting democracy and national will.
