Putin Questions Legitimacy of Ukrainian President Zelenskiy Amid Ongoing Tensions
Russian President Vladimir Putin has made remarkable statements regarding negotiations with Ukraine, questioning the legitimacy of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Putin posed the question, “Who should we negotiate with?” indicating Zelensky’s loss of legitimacy.
In a conference in Switzerland, Putin suggested that one of its aims was to confirm the legitimacy of the Kyiv regime to Western societies. He argued, “The sponsors of the Kyiv regime are now trying to affirm the legitimacy of an already illegitimate president.”
These statements, shared by the Russian Embassy in Ankara, draw international attention amid ongoing tensions with Ukraine. Putin’s comments could significantly impact the diplomatic balance in the region.
