Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya Announces Seizure of 36 AK-47 Rifles in Şırnak Operation
In a recent military operation titled “BOZDOĞAN-49,” conducted by the Çakırsöğüt Gendarmerie Commando Brigade Command, 36 AK-47 assault rifles were seized in Şırnak. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya revealed the details of the operation.
Following intelligence efforts by the Şırnak Provincial Gendarmerie Command, a successful operation was carried out in Şırnak’s central district of Taştepe rural area. During the operation, 36 AK-47 rifles were found wrapped in plastic and buried underground.
Interior Minister Yerlikaya emphasized their unwavering resolve against terrorism and praised the heroic efforts of the gendarmerie. “We will not allow any terrorist to catch a breath. Our sole objective is to continue our struggle tirelessly with your prayers and support until we eradicate all terrorist hideouts. Congratulations to our heroic gendarmerie. May God protect them,” he stated.
The Ministry shared further details on social media, underlining the importance of continuous support and cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
“In a successful operation conducted by the Çakırsöğüt Gendarmerie Commando Brigade Command in Şırnak, we seized 36 AK-47 rifles,” the tweet read, accompanied by an image of the recovered weapons.
