Major “KUYU-8” Operation: 54 Suspects Including Social Media Influencer Arrested

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced that a large-scale operation dubbed “KUYU-8” targeting organized crime activities has been carried out in 25 provinces. Among the 54 suspects arrested are Neslihan Güngen and İnanç Güngen, also known on social media as “Neslim Güngen.”

The operation, coordinated by the Küçükçekmece Prosecutor’s Office and executed by Istanbul’s Financial Crimes Department, targeted a network involved in establishing criminal organizations, laundering assets derived from criminal activity, forging official documents, and aggravated fraud.

Minister Yerlikaya, in a social media post, detailed the extensive police work that led to the operation, involving 134 different addresses across 25 provinces including Istanbul, Adıyaman, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Batman, Bursa, Çanakkale, Erzurum, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, İzmir, Kahramanmaraş, Karabük, Kars, Kırklareli, Kırşehir, Kocaeli, Kütahya, Malatya, Ordu, Sakarya, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, and Tekirdağ.

The operation uncovered that suspects Neslihan and İnanç Güngen had been involved in:

1. Issuing fake professional certificates enabling unqualified individuals to open businesses.

2. Creating counterfeit CE certificates, leading to 44 separate cases of “Negligent Injury” across the country due to devices produced without proper regulatory compliance.

3. Laundering proceeds from fraud by making fraudulent transfers of movable and immovable property during agreements with other dealers.

During the operation, authorities seized a substantial amount of illegal pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, various quantities of narcotics, counterfeit medicaL devices, and large amounts of cash.

Minister Yerlikaya praised the Küçükçekmece Prosecutor’s Office and the heroic officers involved in the operation, stating, “We will not allow organized crime rings, money launderers, and arrogant criminals to operate. No matter their size, we will dismantle these criminal organizations and bring them to justice. May God keep our brave police officers safe. The nation’s prayers are with you.”

The successful “KUYU-8” operation underscores the government’s commitment to combating organized crime and ensuring public safety.
