CHP Criticizes New “Influence Agent” Regulation
Deniz Yücel, the Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson of the CHP, has strongly criticized the newly introduced “influence agent” regulation. Yücel asserted that this regulation could pave the way for anyone who criticizes the government to be branded as an “agent” and consequently face arrest and imprisonment. He argued that the regulation is entirely contrary to freedom of expression, press freedom, and the right to access information. Yücel stated that such measures would create an atmosphere of fear in society. Affirming their stance against the regulation, he declared, “We are against this regulation.”
