Burhanettin Bulut, Deputy Chairman of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) responsible for Public Relations and Media Relations, has expressed his reaction to the price data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). According to Bulut, who is also the Adana Member of Parliament, TUIK’s presented figures do not align with reality.

Citing specific examples, Bulut questioned TUIK’s announced prices: “Specialist doctor consultation for 34 lira, dormitory fee for 457 lira, rent for 5,845 lira, white cheese for 147 lira, and egg for 2.5 lira. In which country does TUIK live?”

Bulut highlighted that the high costs faced by citizens in various aspects of daily life—from healthcare services to housing, food prices to rents—do not correspond with TUIK’s disclosed prices. He emphasized that the economic hardships experienced by citizens should not be ignored, and that such announcements damage the public’s trust in official data.

These statements indicate that the CHP harbors serious concerns about the economic conditions of the public and underscores the need for more transparent and realistic data. In this context, CHP’s Burhanettin Bulut has called for a revision of TUIK’s announced figures to bring them in line with the current economic situation.
