RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin Criticizes Europe’s Negative Attitude Towards Turks and Muslims
RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin has condemned the negative stance of Europe towards Turks and Muslims. In a statement posted on his social media account, Şahin denounced the penalty imposed on successful football player Merih Demiral. Şahin stated, “Expressing our joy with symbols identified with Turkishness deeply offended them. In recent times, Europe, where racist politics and mentality are on the rise, did not surprise us once again. UEFA, mind your own business.”
By citing the phrase “How happy is the one who says I am a Turk!” Şahin expressed his reaction and criticized the rising tide of racist politics and mentality in Europe.
