Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu Commemorates Başbağlar Massacre Anniversary, Condemns Terrorism
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the 7th Chairman of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), issued a message on the anniversary of the Başbağlar massacre. “I commemorate with respect and mercy the 33 people killed in Başbağlar, and I condemn the terrorist organization responsible for this massacre,” Kılıçdaroğlu said, emphasizing unity and brotherhood.
In his message, Kılıçdaroğlu highlighted the unity of the Turkish nation and the state’s determination against terrorism, stating, “Let all terrorist organizations and their supporters, who threaten our unity, brotherhood, and the lives of our people, know that the Republic of Turkey will remain eternal.”
This statement poignantly reminded the nation of the pain caused by the terrorist attack in Başbağlar on July 5, 1993, which resulted in the loss of 33 civilian lives. On this occasion, the Republican People’s Party reiterated its resolute stance on fighting terrorism.
