Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek Announces Start of Disinflation Process
Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek has announced that the disinflation process has commenced. Şimşek stated that the seasonally adjusted three-month moving average’s annualized values align with year-end targets. He emphasized that the recorded inflation rate of 1.64% in June suggests an annualized inflation rate of 22%.
The Finance Minister highlighted the success achieved in critical areas such as financial stability, sustainable current account deficit, reserve accumulation, and exiting the grey list, making it clear that this success will also be evident in the disinflation program. Şimşek reiterated that their programs will be implemented with determination until price stability is achieved, ensuring lasting prosperity.
