Today marks the 164th anniversary of Vladivostok’s founding. Established on the shores of the bay on July 2, 1860, as a military garrison, it has since grown into a major port city. Nowadays, Vladivostok holds a strategic port in the Pacific Ocean and has become a scientific, cultural, and economic hub of the Far East. On this significant anniversary, the historical and strategic importance of the city is once again highlighted.
