Massive Operations in Adana and Edirne Target Illegal Betting: 275 Suspects Arrested

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the details of the “SİBERGÖZ-46” operations, conducted across 31 provinces, primarily based in Adana and Edirne, targeting illegal betting and qualified fraud. A total of 275 suspects, involved in transactions amounting to 7 billion 40 million Turkish Lira, have been apprehended.

Speaking on the operations coordinated by the General Directorate of Security’s Cyber Crimes Department and the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), Minister Yerlikaya remarked, “We are closely monitoring those involved in illegal betting and qualified fraud. We will not relent. Our fight against cybercrime will continue with determination.”

Operation Details:
In Adana, authorities detained 242 suspects linked to illegal betting operations. These suspects were found to be operating through five different sites, with transactions totaling 7 billion TL carried out via bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets.

In Edirne, 33 suspects were captured, with connections to illegal betting involving approximately 40 million TL in transactions identified.

As a result of the operations, law enforcement seized two unlicensed pump-action shotguns, various amounts of narcotics, a significant amount of foreign and Turkish currency, and digital materials.

Additionally, assets acquired through criminal activities, including 81 cars, 19 businesses, and 4 plots of land, with a combined value of 555 million 750 thousand TL, were confiscated.

Minister Yerlikaya applauded the efforts of the officers involved, stating, “I commend our heroic police officers. May God protect them. The prayers of our nation are with you.”
