CHP’s Deputy Chairman Criticizes Government’s Tax Policies, Denouncing Heavy Tax Burdens

CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut has voiced strong criticisms against the government’s tax policies. Asserting that tax burdens create significant pressure on citizens, Bulut stated, “They will burden the nation with all these taxes. Prices from needles to threads will increase; the government will choke retirees, workers, tradespeople, and farmers.”

Bulut mentioned that the government’s target is 226 billion Turkish liras, while last year, they forgave 660 billion Turkish liras in confirmed taxes owed by pro-government contractors. He pointed out that this situation indicates an unjust tax system and would result in greater imbalances in income distribution.

Bulut’s remarks have intensified criticisms against the government’s economic policies, particularly expressing concerns about increasing tax burdens on low-income groups.

This news has been compiled from a press release where CHP sharply criticized the government’s tax policies.
