Operation Against Irregular Migrants Continues Unabated During Kurban Bayram in Turkey
In a coordinated effort led by the Governorates and the Directorate General of Migration Management, units from the General Directorate of Security, the General Command of the Gendarmerie, and the Coast Guard Command continued their relentless and uninterrupted operations to identify and apprehend irregular migrants across Turkey during the Eid al-Adha holiday (June 15-19, 2024).
21,396 Identity Checks Conducted in 5 Days
The inspections, supported by Mobile Migration Point Vehicles in 60 provinces, involved 21,396 identity checks over the five-day period, with a total of 165 Mobile Migration Point Vehicles, 75 of which were stationed in Istanbul.
Deportation Process Initiated for 881 Irregular Migrants
Throughout the nationwide operations against human trafficking organizers and irregular migrants, 881 irregular migrants were handed over to provincial migration management offices for deportation proceedings, facilitated by the mobile migration vehicles.
