Reconstruction Effort in Hatay: Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz’s Statements
In Hatay, a comprehensive coordination meeting was held under the leadership of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, with the participation of deputies, the governor, mayors, and representatives of non-governmental organizations. The meeting was reportedly held under the auspices of AFAD.
Yılmaz stated, “We are redesigning our cities with their residences, streets, and squares; we are revitalizing the infrastructure of trade, production, and employment, and reviving social and economic life.”
Explaining the goals of the physical and economic improvements, Yılmaz pointed out that they aim to restore approximately 401,000 residences and 41,000 businesses, ensuring that a total of 442,000 rightful holders are not left in distress and can return to their homes and workplaces. Furthermore, he emphasized their efforts to revive Hatay’s economy to its former state, regaining production and competitive power.
Yılmaz stressed their unwavering commitment to completing all housing and infrastructure works and ensuring that citizens are relocated to safe homes.
