Minister Ali Yerlikaya Announces Capture of 58 Suspects in Anti-Terror Operations Across 16 Provinces
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya has announced that 58 suspects were apprehended in the “BOZDOĞAN-42” operations conducted against the Separatist Terrorist Organization (STO) across 16 provinces. The coordinated operations were led by the General Directorate of Security’s Counter-Terrorism Division and the Intelligence Division, with the participation of the Provincial Security Directorates’ Counter-Terrorism Branches.
Yerlikaya stated, “Our dear nation should know that we will not allow terrorists to operate freely. Our struggle will continue resolutely until the last terrorist is neutralized to ensure the peace, unity, and solidarity of our nation, thanks to the exceptional efforts of our security forces.” These remarks were shared by Minister Yerlikaya on his social media account.
The operations were conducted in the provinces of Adana, Antalya, Batman, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Gaziantep, Hakkari, İzmir, İstanbul, Karaman, Mersin, Muş, Şanlıurfa, Şırnak, Tunceli, and Van. The suspects were found to have:
– Engaged in activities within the Separatist Terrorist Organization in previous periods,
– Collaborated with the terrorist organization,
– Propagated for the terrorist organization,
– Participated in illegal marches and demonstrations, attacking security forces with molotov cocktails, stones, and fireworks,
– Provided financial support to the organization’s overseas structure,
– Had final prison sentences and warrants.
As a result of the operations, unlicensed shotguns, numerous organizational documents, and digital materials were seized.
Yerlikaya concluded by congratulating the heroic police officers involved in the operations, saying, “May God protect our brave police officers. The prayers of our nation are with you.”
