Turkey’s Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca Evaluates Measures Against Stray Dogs

Turkey’s Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca, has evaluated the necessary measures to be taken against stray dogs. Highlighting the impact of stray animals on public health, Minister Koca emphasized the increase in rabies cases and other traumas.

According to Koca, the primary goal of these measures is to protect the health and safety of people, especially children. Koca stated that life outside needs to be reliable and current laws and regulations already specify the conditions under which stray dogs may be euthanized.

Koca asserted that human health is a priority, and no objections should be raised against the measures to be taken for the same. The Minister stressed the necessity of taking precautions against stray dogs, adding that the methods and procedures in this process must be scientific and civilized.

Koca also pointed out the need to seek harmony between mandatory measures and the humanitarian values that lie within our hearts, acknowledging that these two aspects sometimes do not align.
