President Erdoğan Commemorates Turkish Red Crescent’s 156th Anniversary
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a statement on the occasion of the 156th anniversary of the Turkish Red Crescent, emphasizing that the organization has become a symbol of kindness, compassion, and solidarity. He highlighted the organization’s dedicated efforts, which have secured its place among the world’s esteemed institutions.
Erdoğan noted that the Turkish Red Crescent has fulfilled its mission to protect human and societal dignity, enhance resilience, and alleviate suffering through its charitable actions. “Most recently, following the February 6 earthquake, the Turkish Red Crescent swiftly responded, extending a helping hand just as it has done in every moment of need,” he said.
The President acknowledged the Turkish Red Crescent’s wide range of services, from international aid to social activities, migration efforts, first aid, disaster organization, and blood donations. He credited these achievements to the sacrifices made by its volunteers. “The Turkish Red Crescent works tirelessly to ensure that those in distress can look to the future with hope,” Erdoğan added.
