Turkey and Malaysia Strengthen Naval Cooperation in Strategic Meeting
In an effort to enhance cooperation between the Turkish and Malaysian Naval Forces, a strategic meeting was held on June 5-6, 2024. The Turkish delegation, led by Rear Admiral Gökçen Fırat, Head of Defense Planning and Project Management of the Turkish Naval Forces, participated in the event. Representing Malaysia was a delegation headed by Rear Admiral Pulendren a/l Paramasivam, Chief of Operations and Strategy for the Malaysian Naval Forces.
During the meeting, the current level of cooperation between the two countries’ naval forces was assessed, and strategic plans for the future were discussed. The Turkish delegation also conducted inspections at the Malaysian National Hydrography Centre.
As part of the event, Turkey’s Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur, Emir Salim Yüksel, and the Deputy Commander of the Malaysian Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Dato’ Zulhelmy Bin Ithnain, were also visited. The discussions marked positive steps toward enhancing bilateral relations.
