The Minister of Interior, Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, announced that 72 suspects were apprehended in operations targeting the ISIS terrorist organization, named “GÜRZ-1.” This extensive operation was coordinated by the General Directorate of Security Intelligence Department and the Anti-Terrorism Department and was conducted in 13 provinces.
Minister Ali Yerlikaya emphasized the relentless fight against terrorism in his statement:
“We will not allow the terrorists to breathe. Our singular goal is to continue fighting tirelessly with your prayers and support until the very last terrorist is neutralized.”
The operations took place in the following provinces:
Ankara
Adana
Antalya
Çorum
Elazığ
Gaziantep
Hatay
İstanbul
Kırıkkale
Kilis
Mersin
Şanlıurfa
Trabzon
A significant amount of foreign currency and Turkish Lira, along with numerous digital materials, were seized during the operations.
Minister Ali Yerlikaya congratulated the brave police officers involved in the operations, expressing his gratitude by saying, “May God protect you. The prayers of our nation are with you.”
